Jaypirca: what changed in the evidence · Jaypirca · Dec 2023 – Dec 2025

Did the traditional approval cover the same patients as the accelerated approval?

No. The accelerated indication required two prior lines including a BTK inhibitor and a BCL-2 inhibitor; the traditional one covers relapsed or refractory patients treated with a covalent BTK inhibitor, the population of the randomized trial. The new wording replaced the old.

Short answer

No; the indication was rewritten to match the confirmatory trial. The 2023 indication covered patients after at least two prior lines including a BTK inhibitor and a BCL-2 inhibitor. The 2025 indication covers relapsed or refractory patients previously treated with a covalent BTK inhibitor, with no BCL-2 inhibitor requirement; the trial excluded patients treated with a non-covalent BTK inhibitor. The endpoint also changed, from response rate to progression-free survival.
